cw/tw: terminal illness, domestic abuse
age rating: 13+

- it was a nice, quick read. thank you nicola yoon for saving me from reading slumps.
- dramatic teen soap opera storyline. very entertaining, non-sensical plot.
- the romance was kind of cute ngl
- the twist was a little weird, but the ending was quite nice
- the characters were a little cliché and made a lot of silly decisions. not really in an annoying way, but more of a how-are-you-doing-this-with-no-consequences kind of way.
like, she buys tickets for hawai'i and no one notices! plane tickets are expensive! how rich are you that no one will notice you buying a plane ticket?!

non-sensical storyline • teen drama • surprisingly cute romance

Although it wasn't the gut wrenching romance that I thought it would be, I enjoyed my time in this book. If you are looking for something fluffy and full of yearning, this is the one for you. I didn't cry while reading, but I appreciate how I was left with a feeling of completeness at the end!

I was very surprised by how this book ended up progressing, I don’t want to include any spoilers but I will say the way it went was the only feasible way to tie it all up cleanly. I had no real affinity for Maddy at first, or Olly, I felt as though we didn’t see enough of their true selves, but by the end I sympathized with them heavily. What a stunning chain of coincidences that led to a wonderful outcome. I love when authors include playlists at the end of their books!
