I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I enjoyed this novel but it does require the reader to accept the wildly implausible idea that a billionaire would leave his money to his grandson on the condition that he marries before his thirtieth birthday. Kaleb Derry is the billionaire's grandson in question, in an added twist his mother has pretended that he is the son of the chef rather than hers in order to give him a 'normal' life away from the media circus of being a billionaire. As his alter-ego Ryder Blake he is a talented chef who takes over other restaurants for a few days to add a twist to their recipes.

With five weeks before Kaleb's thirtieth birthday his mother decides to enter Kaleb into the annual Millionaire Match Up event which combines speed dating with people trying to marry for money. Kaleb's will go on to host a series of events to form a 'Marry the Billionaire' televised competition with her son as the prize. For some reason the will also stipulates that the woman Kaleb marries must not see his face until the day of the wedding!

Daisy Maxwell has been dragged along to the Millionaire Match Up by her friend Hannah (although again this is a bit murky because the tickets are very expensive and yet Hannah bought two). Although Daisy really needs to marry well because her sister was badly injured in a car accident and her medical bills are crippling the family, she is really looking to plan the Derry wedding and is looking for some clues as to how they like to arrange events. Daisy is an interior designer but she is looking to break into wedding planning. Whilst there Daisy feels out of place amongst all the glamorous women and starts talking to one of the chefs, in fact she ends up going back to the kitchens with him where he plies her with crab puffs. Of course, we all know who the cute chef really is, don't we?

Soon Daisy is completely entangled with Mrs Derry, redesigning rooms, and Ryder (the one last fling of the title) whilst progressing through the various elimination rounds of the search for Kaleb's bride.

I don't really think these kind of disguised identity/ running a competition to find a bride stories really work in a contemporary setting and the bizarre caveats which meant that Ryder couldn't tell Daisy who he really was were ridiculous.

Overall, I couldn't get past the fact that this would just never happen in real life (yeah I know it's fiction but come on!). If you can suspend disbelief this is a sweet romance.

Sweet and hot romance

This was a really good book, I started and finished the book the day I got it. Daisy is quite sweet girl who would do anything for her family. She enters into a contest to marry a millionaire, won that she can help her family out of financial ruin. Ryder is the chef of the family whose son must get married by 30, or lose everything. When Daisy and Ryder meet, sparks fly.

I look forward to reading more books by this author, I'd like to see the story between Hannah and Trenton (Daisyn's and Ryder's friends), as well as a story where Rose (Daisy's sister) is a main character.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I am reviewing this book for Kylie's Fiction Addiction.
