My first reason to this book was that it was giving me "Insidious" vibes. You know the movies, where the young boy, Dalton falls into a coma but the family discovers it is not really a normal coma. Dalton is stuck in a dreamworld where there are evil spirits wanting to get out and take the place of the person who is stuck in the dreamworld.

However, at the same time this book was also giving my Goosebumps vibes. This is because this book is geared towards young adult readers. So it is not too spooky to give the reader nightmares but spooky enough to give you some goosebumps and avoid getting too close to mirrors.

I flew through this book. A very fast read. Nora is a fighter. She did not give up hope. The other characters in the story that I enjoyed was Nora's brother, Nolan and Jesse. I agree with another reader that I would like to see Jesse featured in his own book. Readers young and old both will enjoy reading this book. Fake Nora is a book that you will want to pick up to add to your horror book collection!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Nora’s mom loves antique shopping. One day, she purchases a mirror labeled “Do Not Touch” and brings it home. Nora, drawn to the mirror, can’t help but touch it which proved to be a horrible decision. She ends up in “Reflectionland” while Fake Nora, her reflection, lives her life. Another boy, Jesse, is trapped with her, along with creatures known as the bad ones. If Nora wants to get out of Reflectionland in one piece, she’ll have to find a way to escape.

This middle grade novel is such a good read! The story is short and moves right along. This is the kind of horror novel I wish I could have read when I was in elementary or middle school! This book is totally clean, so parents don’t have to worry about the content. Younger me would have loved this; it’s creepy but not too creepy for younger audiences. The settings in particular are so well-written; they are what truly makes this book spooky. The author's unique writing style also adds to the book. Full of action and mystery until the very end, this story is sure to be a hit among younger readers looking for a spooky tale. I'd recommend to fans of the Goosebumps series or Coraline. Anyone who has ever heard the Bloody Mary stories might also be interested in this book!

This was the perfect middle grade horror book to read! I am not one who normally reads horror (I am a wimp XD), but the few middle grade ones I've read, I've enjoyed. This one was so well done, with the tension and the scary parts perfectly balanced. I loved our main character Nora and especially her relationship with her little brother. And that ending! I loved it!

This book was absolutely adorable, creative, and enchanting!
Fake nora is the perfect book for anyone with a haunting imagination, or anyone who loves to look at the world in a strange and imaginative light.

For fans of Alice in wonderland, hocus pocus, Coroline, goosebumps, or anything by Roald Dahl, this book is perfect for you. It’s meant for kids. but even teens and adults will love it. It was scary yet so sweet and made me smile and laugh so many times. I can see myself re-reading this one over and over and over again! And I can’t wait to read more of Kelly’s books!
