This book is written in a style I have never encountered before. At first it put me off, but eventually I was really swept away. I wish I knew more about Cuban history to understand some of the details that occurred in that era. Ultimately, there was a couple of pretty big twists that made me really think about the characters I recommend this novel.

Review:
Thank you to Atria Books for picking me to win this FREE ARC COPY in a giveaway in their email newsletter last year!!

This was my first time reading a book by Armando Lucas Correa so i wasnt sure what to expect but i have to say i really loved and truly adored this book especially since it was about 4 Women trying to right the wrongs of their families wrongs 80 years in the making and since this book was named after a poem!!

The Characters were so enjoyable and intriguing to read about. Ally, Lillith, Nadine and Luna were my favorites. I loved how each of their characters evolved over time and how they each tried to survive The Nazi's as much as they could even tho for 2 of the Women it ended deadly.

The Setting was beautifully described which made me feel like i was in 1939 Berlin Germany, 1959 Havana, and 1988 New York City while reading, especially when the scenery was described.

Overall a Phenomenal Historical Fiction Book about Four Generations of Women going on a journey of self discovery and finding themselves while trying to be living testaments of hard times while raising their children!!

Can't wait to read more by Armando in the future!!
