I wasn't as drawn into this as I was by Private. Nor did I realise this is the fourth in the series! God I'm slow! I hate reading anything out of order I'm weird like that. But still I felt the plot was easy to guess too. I did like Dan. His ex wife is a tad bit over the top with the jealousy with miss chambers. I liked the book I just didn't love it.
This whole thing was very confusing. Warning!!! This review will contain spoilers for Private Games!!!
This is #4 in the Private series. It comes after Private Games and that's what makes it confusing. I made sure numerous times that I was reading the books in the right order. When I was reading Private Games it is mentioned that a plane carrying most of Private London's head staff had crashed, killing everyone on board sometime before the book begins. Later on, Jack Morgan tells Peter Knight that the plane was sabotaged so someone had murdered their colleagues. And then that's it. The rest of the book is focused on the Olympics.
Private London takes place well before the events in Private Games. It's described as a prequel, but all it does is introduce characters that are all dead off page between two books. I don't get it. Private Berlin, next in the series has nothing to do with London so I'm assuming soon there will be another book based in London that will address the search for the killer?
Private London is full of fun little twists and turns and a few surprises although the biggest surprise wasn't very surprising to me. Does that make sense? When the mastermind was uncovered I had already had that person pegged as the one. Still, the journey to get to that point was fun.
I'd say that the characters were funny, intriguing and enjoyable, but who cares? Most of them will be dead before you read this book!
So weird.

This book wasn't my favourite James Patterson...but it was still pretty good! Anyone who likes James Patterson, or who enjoy a good police book would enjoy this! But if you're reading James for the first time...maybe a different book would be a bit better...and then read this one! Read my full review here, on word press!

This was a quick easy read. Not a lot of twists and turns and for me, some things were actually predictable. I like the idea of Private. I am sick of one and two page chapters. No deep material here. The story moved quick,y but was definitely far fetched. Patterson churns out too many books a year and all of his co writers are not exceptional. If you need a quick plane read or are sick in bed, this is your novel.
It was good but not one of his best. About a kidnapping and the firm PRIVATE located in London is trying to solve the case.
I read this book for my 2021 Reading Challenge and the prompt was a book set in multiple countries. This book cover America and Europe and a little bit of the the Middle East. The Private series is always exciting and action packed. This book was no different even though Jack Morgan was only briefly mentioned in this book I really liked Dan Carter. He is a smartass but a pretty funny one.
Slightly better that the first book in the !Private! series. However definitely not up to Mr. Patterson's usual standard. Predictable plot and not a lot of depth in the characters. I don't think I will be reading any more of this series and I am a big Patterson fan usually.
So let me get this straight, if you like the plots and not the language, this book is for you.
I usually prefer language over plot but for the private series, I have excused the same.
YES, THERE ARE LOOPHOLES. Now if you don't enjoy Jack Morgan and his divisional/city-wise heads of Private, let me tell you, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU
NOT PERFECT, BUT THE PLOT WAS GOOD. Thus 3.5 to 4 stars
MUST READ because: Twists. There are couple of game changers. If you are a fan of twists in a slow-moving crime novel, this book, now.

disapointing not as good as the first private.
