Pretty good book, and some interesting theories confirmed or debunked. It wasn't in the format I expected and I thought it was going to be more about parenting than parental tales and myths that we threaten our kids with.

Quick read that has some fun and interesting facts. Perfect for a Mythbusters fan.

Enjoyed it. Not entirely groundbreaking, I think I already knew the 'truth' in about half the cases - although, some of the 'parental gems of wisdom' I hadn't actually heard of. Still, it was well written, with a funny, at times sarcastic, ironic, or tongue-in-cheek voice, rather than straight factual reporting.

Lots to learn here! This is a very distracting Audiobook - I had to keep pausing, rewinding, and repeating because of all of the information I needed to ponder. Good for the car, bad for work lol.

Not a story, but a series of essays about various things that parents tend to tell their kids. At the end of each essay, Mr. Jennings [a:Ken Jennings|45003|Ken Jennings|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1353968375p2/45003.jpg] gives a truth value to each of the things. Sometimes he lets his own personal feelings color his truth rating, but overall a fun read.

So frickin' funny! Interesting enough topic, but I wouldn't have finished it if it weren't so readable!

This was a lot of fun. In brief portions, Jennings presents each of the titular myths, tales and warnings as well as the evidence and research that either supports or completely debunks it, and there are amusing anecdotes along the way. A few of the edicts probably didn't need to be included because it is obvious what the findings would be, but I enjoyed reading them anyway. I like that Jennings allowed some wiggle room in determining each verdict and that very few were considered completely true or false. Jennings has a witty, humorous writing style that is a pleasure to read, and I came away from each section bursting with new information to share.

Very interesting. It was a compelling read. With each chapter title I had found myself asking the same question at some point in my life, so I wanted to know the answer.

Informative and funny. I bought it for a young person. Would recommend for teens.
