Part of me really loved this book so fucking much! I loved the drama and the angst.
The main characters were a little annoying sometimes because they were going in circles and repeating the same thing over and over. The sister, well I hated her!

I recently devoured my first book by Catharina Maura, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style. "The Wrong Bride" is an engaging, emotionally charged novel that expertly weaves a tale of love and heartache. The details are well-crafted, making it easy to invest in the characters' struggles and triumphs.
The plot centers around an arranged marriage between the protagonist and her best friend's older brother, with whom she's destined to tie the knot. What unfolds is a heart-wrenching rollercoaster ride of emotions, tackling themes of toxicity, gaslighting, and selfishness within family relationships – unfortunately, very relatable.
I appreciated how the author skillfully wove in commentary on the portrayal of men in romance novels, subtly pointing out the irony of how such male characters are often penned by women.
However, I did encounter some drawbacks. While the story flowed effortlessly at times, there were periods where I felt the narrative became repetitive. Moreover, I found the extensive dialogue from the main male character a bit excessive – I've rarely seen men engage in such lengthy conversations.
Despite these minor quibbles, I found "The Wrong Bride" impossible to put down, devouring it in large chunks whenever I could. Admittedly, during some sections, I did resort to skimming as the narrative felt tedious, but overall, the book's raw emotion and captivating plot kept me hooked.

Foi uma leitura rápida, mas não porque o livro é bom e sim porque eu tava espumando de raiva e queria saber como que iriam resolver a situação.
Achei muito mal pensado esse plot porque chega em uma parte que você consegue perceber os furos, por exemplo: o Ares fica o livro todo dizendo que ama a Hannah e só via a Raven como irmã da namorada, mas no final do livro ele diz que sempre amou a Raven. Teve a parte que a Raven revela que dormiu com o Ares no aniversário da Sierra e na manhã seguinte ele diz que ta namorando a Hannah porque pensou que dormiu com ela, só que não faz sentido também porque apesar de eles terem bebido, ele sempre sonhou com esse dia e nunca desconfiou de nada? Também teve o pai da Raven que parecia amar ela, mas a autora simplesmente some com ele durante o livro e não explora a relação deles e a última vez que ele é mencionado é quando a Raven (eu acho) diz pra mãe dela que ele mandou os seguranças procurar ela quando ela sumiu.
Agora críticas aos personagens: A avó do Ares é uma velha caduca, achei horrível da parte dela querer forçar a Raven a aceitar a Hannah na casa dela só por estar grávida. A Hannah é uma vagabund4 mal amada, não consigo acreditar que uma pessoa seria capaz de fazer tudo isso pra irmã que literalmente salvou a vida dela. O Ares é um bunda mole, obsessivo, tóxico apesar de ser gente às vezes. A mãe das duas é uma piranh4 caquética, queria que ela tivesse morrido. A Raven é uma tonha, que pessoa continuaria amando outra mesmo ela estando comprometida por 5 anos? Parece que ela nem tentou seguir em frente e apagar esse sentimento pelo Ares, acho que ela merecia muito mais do que foi oferecido pra ela por qualquer pessoa no livro, a mulher passou por um inferno na terra e no final nenhuma das pessoas que fizeram mal pra ela durante a vida toda pediram desculpas, que era o mínimo a ser feito.
Apesar de todos os pontos negativos, é um daqueles livros que te faz sentir emoções (a maior parte foi raiva).
