2.5 - this took about 45% to get interesting (and slowed back down again) but i pushed through bc i’ve been DNF’ing books lately.

first of all, i’ve learned (confirmed?) two things:
1. male authors ALWAYS suck at writing women
2. i really struggle reading said male authors

keller’s entire personality was being pregnant and hating things. she was so snooty for absolutely no reason and the author honest to god had no good reason to make her that way - it had nothing to do with the story. she felt very much like what a man who’s never actually talked to a real woman thinks pregnant women act like.

chris’s entire personality was being an insufferable asshole with tunnel vision and i was excited when he finally got punched in the face

i really loved the premise of this (and admittedly, the ending!) but the main characters were all so unlikeable it felt really hard to want to root for them.

just read my highlights
