This is the first thriller I’ve read in a while and it was quite the read! Some things were predictable, but others were totally unexpected.
There was A LOT going on in this book that might it kind of hard to keep up at times.

This was ok. It was pretty freaky to have a mass murder done twice and many years apart. Then to have a single survivor for each instance was also a wierd idea that I thought the author tied up nicely.

I did enjoy this book. I will read more by this author, however, while exciting, I felt that it still felt flat in some places. While it was quick paced, short chapters, easy reading, it was just missing something. Overall, still a great book and I’d recommend.
On the evening of Y2K, the brink of a new millennium, a new era, everyone is ready to go home and get on with their plans for the night. While closing up at a Blockbuster, these high school kids think they’ll be able to do just that. Only one of them survives the night.
Fifteen years later, a similar occurrence happens at an ice cream store. One lone survivor. Both survivors remember eerily what the killer told them: “goodnight, pretty girl”.
The characters worked together well, and the emotions were high. While the plot was predictable in some places, it didn’t take away from the story telling, the wit used, and the banter passed be through the characters.
I’m excited for my next read by Finlay!

Good book for a quick listen. Some of the plot resolution felt a bit convoluted to me, but the pacing was exciting.
