I really enjoyed this book, and of course, I’m obsessed with trying to figure out who John is and what’s the name of his show!

I liked her thoughtfulness and deliberateness with her patients. I liked knowing she is also someone who needs a therapist as well. It’s given me a new lens to look at me in therapist through.

Did not expect to get so emotionally attached to many of the characters in this book. I cried at the end.

I found this book to be both comforting and insightful. Tears were shed, feelings were felt, and I think each patient's story (author included) was something I needed to read about. I think this is an excellent novel for people who have done therapy before or might be considering it in the future.

I think about this book a lot, months after reading it, but I don’t know if that makes it a good book. The voyeur in me, the person that loves gossip, gets a lot out of a book like this, but as a social worker, I don’t know how I feel about a mass-marketed book that delves into people’s personal stories, delivered under the condition of anonymity. I’m sure they consented, I’m sure the details are changed. But this has fed the gossiper more than the therapist in me.
