What a great book! Lori Gottlieb talks about her life, how she became a therapist, and her struggles as well as the life challenges of her patients in such way that we feel like we're reading a novel. So many insights, the kind of book that naturally teaches you so much about psychology and gives you tools to cope with your own struggles without sounding like a "self-help" book. I loved it! ❤️

Gottlieb crafts a raw, real, and personal narrative that answers the question: what does it mean to be human? However, her frequent use of lewd, vulgar language and often "TMI" anecdotes made me put the book down.

this book made me experience the full spectrum of human emotion. still sad over some things in it!!! it is a really good book that illustrates how we as humans are so much more than the versions of ourselves that we choose to show and that we all have trauma, we all have good and bad sides, and there are things we all would rather keep hidden.
