A pretty darn good Poirot mystery. If you ignore the racism. (Who knew people hated Greeks lol?) (also a few obligatory slurs?? For no reason?? They really were wilder out back then) more content warnings in this one compared to her other books
I WAS SO MAD for most of the book because I was SURE Mr.tanio’s did it. I’m so SOOOOO glad I was wrong! Otherwise it would’ve been so sad, for everyone to be racist to this poor guy only for him to be the killer :( but OMG Mrs.Lawson should have been one of the killers (she def don’t really want to part with the money and she STILL DIDNT GIVE ANY TO MR.TANIOS ONLY THE KIDS WTF!?!?) poor guy… ALMOST FORGOT PORIOT MADE THAT GIRL KHS WTHH??

I didn’t like this as much as the other Christie I read recently (Cards on the Table) but it was still pretty good. Maybe I'm giving it a middling rating solely due to comparison, but eh.

It was so nice to be back with Poirot and Hastings again! I love Agatha’s style in this one - the dry wit and humor really comes through. I didn’t guess the culprit but alas! With Poirot I rarely seem to. I had stopped reading Poirot for a while because they were getting repetitive but this one hit at the right time. Loved it.

A rare one where I guessed the culprit! I guess Ms. Christie lobbed us a clue with "the type of murder."
