One of the shorter novels, novella type length, and a less satisfying ending. Not my favorite poirot so far.
The BBC audiobooks continue to deliver, though, and I love the full cast recording style.

You never could go wrong with a book by Agatha Christie! I did happen to use an audiobook I found on YouTube by AUDIOBOOK Pro+, but this story was as good as any other I've read by her. Everyone is both innocent but also guilty, until the end. I tried to guess the true guilty person before it was revealed. I was semi correct ... Knew of the one, but thought there was a second. Still a good read with not too many pages! Such an interesting story and conclusion!
I know that later on, I'll probably not remember all of this story when I go to do my yearly wrap-up, but I'm glad I tackled another book on my physical TBR. 3.5 stars!

In this mystery, Hercule Poirot receives a letter from a woman who is concerned about her welfare, but the letter does not arrive until after she is already dead. Poirot and Hastings travel to a small village to investigate. Miss Emily Arundell fell down the stairs after her dog's ball was left on a top step. She survives, but a week or so later she dies. Suspects include family members, unhappy for being cut from Miss Arundell's will, and also the heir, a Miss Lawson who was the deceased's companion. An enjoyable classic mystery from the pen of Agatha Christie.

The dialogue was weaker than most Poirot stories, in my opinion.
