Best friends, Beth and Charlie, are both coming off a bad relationship. Unfortunately for her, Beth’s ex just wont disappear and is making quite a nuisance of himself. Charlie’s job is keeping him away but when he gets home, he comes to her defense.
When they take a short holiday, they make a bet on who can abstain for the next twelve weeks. This bet draws them closer while the rest of theirs world is falling apart.
Opinion
This story is told from dual points of view. While I truly enjoyed this, in a few places it mixed me up because it went back to the beginning of a scene. My mind had already gone on wanting to know what was happening next.
Beth’s bad luck throughout the book was unreal. The poor girl couldn’t get ahead for being pulled behind. This made for some interesting (and sometimes scary) scenes. The build up in the book over what was going to happen was captivating.
I think I may have fallen in love with Charlie a little bit. While he did have faults, his redeeming qualities more than made up for it. I could sympathize with Beth as she felt Charlie was her better and was a bit intimidated by being in a relationship with him. (Like I said, he’s pretty close to perfect. Who wouldn’t feel unworthy?)
Overall, the book was a long read but well worth the time spent. I look forward to reading more in this series and can’t wait to see who is next.
Many thanks to Bare Naked Words for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Friends to lovers

Beth and Charlie are being best friends and roommate for a long time. They basically have always ignored the feelings for each other until both of them ended their current relationship. That’s when they couldn’t control their attraction but decided to do of bet about being celibate. There’s is a little bit of drama with the exes from both side. A lot of hot moments but the wait was too long for me. At the same time is a sweet and easy read with spices moments and HEA.
