I didn't like this as much as the first one, but it was still really good. I enjoy books more when what happens is shown, so reading about some major things as comments was not as fun. However, I was quite surprised by the ending, and I want to see where the story goes. It was still confusing at times, but the characters were further developed and I liked that.

The best way to understand why the second book differs from the first one is to quote it:
“Empires do not suffer emptiness of purpose at the time of their creation. It is when they have become established that aims are lost and replaced by vague ritual”. The first book is an adventurous story about heroes and revolution. And the second book is about what happens to heroes after revolution.

tbh i did not like this book compared to the first one. The best parts of the book were the last 20 pages or so. The book felt like a filler. And then ended with chani dying duke killing himself (or so we think) alia boy crazy and waiting a zbie version of a man whose def wayyyy to old for her… idk the book was weird
