The whole time reading this book I had a sense of regret for not finding this when I was in my most active reading years, around 12 or 13. It would've made a larger impact of me, even as I think as an adult I can definitely get more out of it now than I would've as a teenager. I see why this has been recommended to me, the book and the storytelling felt real in a way I seldom encounter. Of course it's very subjective, and I understand why to someone this might fall into the "yet another female protagonist's adventure with magic and learning lessons" category of books saturated with the ACOTAR-like books many of us don't enjoy in the slightest. This books has the it factor of fantasy books. No idea how to describe how and why, someone way smarter than me has probably put it in words somewhere on the internet.

Oh my god! I'm so happy I finally got around to reading this. It took me forever, but it was definitely worth it. This review goes out to my friend who is a massive Sanderson fan and finally convinced me to read this.

UMM... I don't have wordssssss for the ending of this book. THe entire 5th part was a masterpiece. I'm mad at how good it was. I'm still screaming honestly.

There was a chunk of the middle that was kinda a slog, but that might have been my mindspace? I wasn't really in a good place while I was reading that. That part is why I'm not sure about my 5 star rating, but I feel like a reread would definitely confirm the book as 5 stars.

Possibly my favorite part of the book were the little interludes from the logbook before every chapter. I'm going to be thinking about those for a LONG time.

SAZE my love <3 you are my favorite character I love you so much. I just felt the need to put that in. I love that man. (Most of the characters were great. Obviously I love Vin and Elend too. And Dox and Ham and Marsh. I think you get it.)

The more I write the more I feel good about a 5 star rating. Jesus this book was amazing.
