Love, Creekwood: Une novella dans l'univers de Love, Simon by Becky Albertalli

Love, Creekwood is as charming and lovely as the full-length books set in the Simonverse. Even though the audiobook's cast is fantastic, if I had to do it again, I'd read this novella, instead of listening to it. There are a lot of group emails, and the repetition of their email addresses gets a little grating as the crew swaps one-liners. Not that I regret a moment of the time I spent listening to it—Watching these characters settle into university life is an absolute treat!

Super cute, super quick. A great way to catch up on the characters’ lives one year later. It’s told through a series of emails, so the reader flies through. However, I kind of struggled with the need for this novella at all - I liked how the original series ended, with an air of mystery around how the characters all turn out.

Why’d I pick this read? Part of Becky Albertalli’s Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda series

This book was just what I needed recently. I just started college and I have to be honest, teh first few weeks were really rough. Even now, despite having a great group of new friends, loving my classes, and really settling in, I sometimes feel that pang of homesickness. This book showed me that I'm not alone in feeling like this. So many stories portray the transition to college as an easy thing, but this was an honest book. I appreciate that and all the Beck Albertalli did. Starting college is hard and this book is honest about it.

Now for the actual content. This book was adorable. I loved seeing these characters' lives post high school. It was very sweet and endearing and it was a great book to pull me out of a little reading slump!

My only complaint is that it was over too soon! I would happily read a collection of emails that detail their whole lives. Is that weird?

Na een tijdje werd het voorlezen van de emailadressen wel een tikje vermoeiend.

This is very much exactly what I needed this to be.

I honestly cried a lot because it feels like closing a final chapter with people I've grown to care SO much about.

I can’t tell if the romance drama was exceptionally dramatic or if I’m just showing my age with how unrelatable it was.
