DNF. I did go through 20% and all of it was painful - I mean the characters are so weakly developed and as much as I love flawed main characters - this time they were utterly stupid.. get this - the MMC, a thousand year old lad, screams his frustration into a pillow. Ick. Ewwww. There were pages where the word ‘lust’ was mentioned almost in every sentence. Repetitive as hell and very confusing as the characters say or do something that clearly would lead to a certain conclusion and then they get upset that it actually happens. Face palmed myself probably thirty times.

“I love you, Selene, my moon, my sorceress. You wove a spell around my heart and I have no desire to ever break it. Or you. Or this life we will build together.”

I started listening to it on Audible since it's free for premium users and I LOVED IT !!

This book really needed a good edit. It's about 30% too long. The pacing feels off and the story becomes repetitive and self-contradictory in parts. I also found the world-building is lacking. The rules are inconsistent, the characters lack development.

Affection is the best character and sacrifices it all for two people who could have saved us all a lot of time if they'd just had a conversation about anything.
