Interesting but scatterbrained! I never really figured out what Haynes’ central argument is and the book is really disorganized, with lots and lots of tangents. But Haynes is a good storyteller and her knowledge of and passion for her subject make it a worthwhile read. The audiobook is great and made the book much more enjoyable.

Haynes’ non-fiction work is just unmatched.
The chapters on Hestia, Artemis, and Demeter were a standout for me but all were fantastic.

I love everything Greek/Roman mythology. Her voice is very calming to listen to. She knows her stuff and it was nice to hear about these goddesses and women from Greek/Roman mythology from a woman’s perspective. I’ll definitely be listening to more of her books in the future
