Miss Kim Knows, a collection of stories about women, is the perfect book to cap off International Women's Month. Cho Nam-joo writes concisely and candidly about women from all walks of life and ages in Korea. These are stories about family, love, friendship, motherhood, getting old, pursuing one's lifelong dream and the work culture in Korea. Some stories depict gender violence and discrimination that are issues affecting women globally. It's an amazing work written by a woman about women.

It was an interesting read at times it was infuriating but I loved how the simple description of daily life could make me feel this way. I sometimes wondered if you would get the same effect if you weren't a feminist.
For example the story where the father leaves because he feels trapped even though the entire family had already put his wants and needs before everything else and the family grows closer and happier after he is gone... Do non-feminits get that everyone was hurt by patriarchy or do they believe the family is ungrateful..mm
I loved the different perspectives and I am sure glad that in my country there is (at least somewhat) more gender equality.

a collection of short stories that showcases women from different stages in life. it explores the realities of being a woman in different circumstances and themes. i enjoyed reading most of it, but there were stories that were weaker than the others. i wish they ended the book with a stronger story rather than ending it with the, i would say, "weakest" story.
