Brilliant, definitely read it if you have the chance. The titular story definitely stays with you the most, given the burning of a woman in a public square, but the story that's sat with me most is The Fifth Story. A metatext discussing different versions of the same story, really into that questioning meta stuff right now. But yeah an inspiring read that'll dig itself into you somehow.

I really love her writing style but I found the story's hard to follow despite their length. Additionally they all seem to have a "twist" but that "twist" is all so predictable and samey- which im sure is half the point but gets boring after a while. I would read again though for a little short story reading. Very sad

“beware a woman who dreams” haunting short story, the men and the angels talking yet you hear nothing from the mouth of the woman being killed added to the horrific atmosphere. lispector is a genius.
