Lots of happenings in this small Australian town. The audiobook is so well done.

A fabulous atmospheric book set in the arid Aussie outback. There is currently a rich seam of books coming out of Australia and this is no exception. The story is complex but keeps the
interest throughout. Perhaps a little flabby and complex in its conclusion but well worth a read.

A solid thriller, when it stops trying to be too clever.

There's so much in this book that simply isn't necessary. It's as if the author tried to stuff every idea he has into one book. It was unnecessary, clunky, and a jumble. There are so many characters in this book but they might as well all be the same three people. There's no real depth to any of them. He spends a great deal of time on very nasty descriptions of obese characters. So much so that it made me wonder if he was bullied because of his weight or bullied others for theirs. His depiction of female characters are no better. They are all weak and too be rescued by men. The only reason they would have sex is by being seduced, tricked, or some other nonsense. They cannot possible want a sex life. This book is a mess.

Perfect sunny day easy read.

Every book should have a map. Plus 1 star for the map and the map only. Up the maps.
