I know i am not the target audience but I've read my fair share of "children's books" to have had higher expectations for such a classic

I read this book as a child. It's kind of sad, but a good book.

Such a sweet story. I wanted something easy to read to myself. I forgot I used to love this as a kid.

I didn't grow up with this one, as far as I'm able to tell there was never an official translation into Norwegian. I think I recall watching an animated short film based on it when I was very, very young, but that's all.

I'm in my thirties and I started weeping like a baby at, like, page three, and I didn't stop until I'd finished. Right away the story feels so universal, right away it speaks about how love changes you. I like to imagine if someone HAD read me this as a child, I would feel that same warm flush of awe, and perhaps suspect that the story was about more than just childhood toys being alive.
