I only listen to audiobooks when I'm out walking or doing something resembling exercise, which doesn't happen nearly as often as it should. It's a testament to the power of this book that I could go for long stretches without touching it and still keep the thread of the story firmly in my mind without having to back up.

For a while I wasn't sure I was going to like this book nearly as much as I did - Sahar was starting to drive me bonkers. But then reality set in for her, the story turned and it ended in a satisfying way. All in all, a beautiful read.

This book was AMAZING. If you care about women's rights, gay rights, the plight of women in the Middle East, you HAVE to read this.

A heartbreaking story that is all to familiar. I loved seeing a glimpse of what it can be like for sexual and gender minority’s in Iran.
