This was a pleasant thriller, definitely left some plotholes behind once the twist was revealed but nothing that was intolerable to me. I wouldn't call this life changing by any means, but it was fun and fast.

I enjoyed a previous work of Liv Constantine's, but felt the choice to bounce between wives ruined the momentum. Here, I think it works. Joanna's narration added energy and mystery to Piper's through the more mundane domestic moments. I certainly would have taken out some of the every day moments: it was more than clear that Piper's stepchildren didn't accept her.

I'm not sure all the twists hold up (there was an underbaked one at the end), but the main one had power to it on first read.

Probably the fastest book I've read. I really enjoyed the short chapters that kept the pace moving. At first, it was confusing why Joanna's perspective was in the first person and Piper's in the third, but by the end of the book, it made sense and was a clever writing choice from the authors. I really didn't see the twist coming and had to re-read the page out of shock, but I loved that. Some of the plot was a little far-fetched and I felt like the 'add-on' twist right at the end with the therapist wasn't really needed. Absolutely none of the characters were likable, apart from maybe the daughter. There are still some unanswered questions but overall was an enjoyable read.
