So cute! I love Mo Willems' stories - they always make me laugh and they're fun to share with students.
Fun, as always. A bit confusing as it seems the point is that the duckling asked for the cookie POLITELY and that's why he got one (when the truth is that he got it for the pigeon). It may be hard for kids to understand WHY the pigeon never gets the things he asks for but the duckling does. But still - a great pigeon book with lots of opportunities for silliness.
Going to try this out at storytime next week. Great book to get kids talking about manners and the power of saying "please".
It's too bad Pigeon doesn't learn this lesson, but that is what he is known for :P

PB 18. This is another wonderful installment of the Pigeon series. I love the duckling. It is so cute, but still has that Mo Willems attitude. I think this would be a good light read for after lunch or something in a younger classroom.
May 2016 - there's a reason people are always asking for Mo Willems books at the library. Ben doesn't quite get the duckling's process of manipulation, but he loves it anyway. Cookies! Crazy birds! Bonus - now I can say, "can you ask politely, like the duckling?" and he'll sometimes snap out of a whine.
