if you are a new mom and exploring your spirituality thanks to the newfound sense of admiration for your body's ability to create life, i beg you to read this book. this is easily one of the best books i've ever read and it brought tears to my eyes more than once. if i didn't have a three month old, i probably could've devoured this in one sitting. the writing is engaging and it feels like you're being spoken to directly by a close friend about all of the intimate feelings that accompany motherhood as well as womanhood in general. i cannot adequately describe how much i love this book, but this will be in my collection for reference for many years to come. five stars isn't enough, this book deserves to be critically acclaimed.

A lot of this book I either agreed or disagreed with. Some of what is said does not carry through biblically, such as trying to make Eve the first made of humans when clearly it states woman was formed from a man, but let’s just ignore that? A lot of this book was just weird to me.

Unfortunately, I was not a fan of much of the content of Rewilding Motherhood. I appreciated the author's aim to give women a fresh view of motherhood that represents our spirituality and wholeness as humans, not just mothers or society's views of what a mother should be. I admit, I found some parts encouraging - such as the chapter on gentleness, and those on anger and spirituality. However, much of the book made me feel judged or that I was not enough...not feminist enough, not contemplative enough, not caring enough. Something about the tone of this book, as a whole, did not sit right with me. I did take away some nuggets and that is good enough for me.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for an eARC. All opinions are my own.

Perfect to read a small snippet each night. I enjoyed her perspective and found so much I loved learning about her Catholic faith. A modern read for sure.

Well written, with plenty of wisdom. I immediately want to read it again, over and over, to soak it all in.
