To me, still a great story about revenge and what coming back to life for it can do to a man. As for the new additions, anything regarding Eric and Shelly was nice. The part with Albrecht was interesting but nothing great and additions in the fight don't add anything for me. And yes, the newer art does look different compared to the original story but if you like the story enough, it doesn't matter that much.

Člověk na tu hru vyhrocených emocí musí chtít přistoupit. Škoda toho drhnoucího překladu.

I thought I'd like this more because I LOVE the film, and the film is honestly the exact same thing, but the adaptation is WAY better. This book is ultimately just a revenge fantasy which isn't really my thing, and the art style is SO not my thing. film fucks tho

2.5-3*
This was.. oof. Very depressing and dark and gory and.. depressing. Trigger warnings for like, everything. Drug use, abuse, overdosing, explicit gore, death of a loved one, rape, suicide, self harm. Can't think of anything else right now.. but hey, the cat had a happy ending, so no animal cruelty, yay!
Honestly, I can't decide if Eric totally overreacted or not. I mean yes, his fiancée got raped and murdered, while he watched (although he was already dead.. don't know how that works), which is horrible and I wish this on no one.. but at the same time their relationship felt a little extreme. I mean, love is great and everything, but everytime they interacted Eric and Shelly just swooned at each other and whispered sweet words into their ears. Which is a little too much for me.
I normally really like sad characters, but Eric just felt.. too much for me (like literally, he probably also felt too much himself, that's why he went on his whole murder trip..).
I don't know how I feel about the art style either. It was very detailed and I liked it in general, but Shelly was quite oversexualized in my opinion and sometimes the panels were so dark, I couldn't make out all of the details.
