I believe that I had this on my list for a while (despite not reading the first installment), but well... this was not what I expected. And not in the good way. It was really hard for me to click with the style, the development was on the slow side and quite monotonous. I was invested at points, but it barely went somewhere so my interest decreased.

😍 The good:
The book started in a promising way, the plot was interesting and the characters' apparent personality and backstories as well. Sadly, the rest was not really up my alley.

😅 The not-so-good:
The characters started becoming quite problematic rather early in the book. The plot was overly dramatic and the pace was too slow even for a slow burn: a lot of talk, not much happening. Initially, the attitudes seemed healthy, but they evolved in a quite problematic manner. After reading some spoilers, I can understand why people feel that the story is predictable (either simplistic or traumatising), and I just did not feel the characters' romantic interactions overall.

📚No Rings Attached
This book was a struggle. There was so much fighting and miscommunication between the love interests that it made me not want them to be together. I kept reading because despite being very annoyed at the characters, I kinda wanted to find out how it would end. However, the resolution was underdeveloped, quick, and cliché. It seemed like a cheap way to still have a “happy ending” despite all the pain and heartbreak the main characters had gone though. I would recommend if you’re looking for an angsty romance with LOTS of ups and downs.

trigger warnings: infidelity mention, homophobia, death of parents

Bro this book was so stinking cute. Idk there's something about a character who is an emotional flight risk and the love interest who is eternally placid and ready to talk that just has me on my knees. I love this shit. We've got 50% fake dating 50% road trip and 100% forced proximity that is just TOO CUTE TO HANDLE. Loved this one more than the first ngl.

I really enjoyed the first book and I was super excited for to get my hands on this one. I feel like this was a lot less cluncky that the first one. It flowed a lot better.

It was cute and fun. I did find the main character interactions a bit frustrating at various points. They were both so rigid and it got frustrating but I got over that quickly.

One thing that annoyed me was that there was repeated mentions of a character only feeling sexual attraction when they form an emotional bond but not once was the word demisexual used. I think it would have been amazing to have that very clear representation.
