Not really sure how to rate this. Not much of a story here. Not quite what I expected. I figured there would be something more of a plot. But this seems oddly devoid of such a thing. It's more a series of events that suddenly end, like a dream. And perhaps that's what this was meant to be, a dream like series of events. But while I found the writing itself read well aloud when I read passages, I found the content lacking. As I understand it, there is apparently more depth to this than seems, if one reads an annotated version. But never the less, it doesn't really stand up well on its own. It's interesting if not for the sake of intrigue. There are a few scenes that are fascinating in the way they're written. And I actually feel bad giving this a 2/5. But, while it is written well, it lacks, for myself anyway, elements of a story which I have come to enjoy. I'm being generous by giving this 2 out of 5 I think.
So why did I read this? Well, I was curious what it was. I had heard about it all my life, and decided it would be a nice brief diversion from the Malazan Book of the Fallen, and I enjoy a short read now and then. But this read wasn't particularly satisfying. It was enjoyable more so when I decided to read it aloud at times, however.

A fantastic tale, in which Alice falls down a rabbit hole, then (gullible as she may be), eats and drinks things that tell her to and meets some very interesting characters along the way.
