I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

This is a continuation of one of my favorite series so make sure to read it in order. It’s told in the first person and this time it’s the New Year. But don’t want until then to read this book. Kallysten is planning on having the next book in the series to come out either later this year or beginning of next. It’s a quick read that you can get done in just a couple of hours, which is a good thing at this hectic time of year.

Angelina is still staying with Morgan. This time I feel like we’re reading her diary. By reading this series, you get to see how hard it is to be a vampire and how hard it is to have humans around. Especially when said human is female. And then I’m left with an “Oh no, not again!”

Kallysten is great about cliffhangers. I want to know what happens but I have to learn to be patient. At the time I was reading this, I was watching NBC’s “Dracula”. It was a great way to get into the mood even though the series is a historical piece. And Kallysten leaves me looking forward to what’s going to happen next.

In this 4th installment of the Ward of the Vampire Serial, the pieces finally start to fall into place. The motivation behind Delilah's and Irene's actions, faulty as they may be, now make more sense. Angelina has a clearer picture of what's motivating Morgan to behave as he does. Her decisions are meant to help, not hurt Morgan. Will he see it that way? Has Morgan finally convinced Angelina that his way of thinking is the right way?

I am anxiously awaiting the next installment of this fabulous serial. I'm hooked!!
