This book has such beautiful imagery, despite being a very tough story to read. It rivals "The Glass Castle" in its forthright dealings with the failures of one's parents and other authority figures. I got to hear the author speak at the Baltimore Book Festival, which was a wonderful opportunity. This is the 2014 One Maryland One Book selection.
