Wanted to give her an extra star because she voted for Hillary ❤️

“The Wives” by Simone Gorrindo is a moving and insightful account of her life as a military wife. This is an intimate account of love, marriage and the strong connection that are developed between the other military wives.

Not knowing much about military life, this was an eye opening account into the struggles and fear and sisterhood that these women have when their husbands are both away and stateside. The book is well written with a decent pace that keeps you engaged throughout. There were a couple of times that the storyline seemed to fizzle out without resolution, similar to real life, but seemed odd in a book. It highlights the struggle of communication and connection with a spouse when conversations are inherently limited. If you read my other memoir reviews, you know I don’t rate them, but do highly recommend this one for its perspective into a world I knew little about.
