The memoir was an interesting look into a different side of war and the military that isn’t talked about as often as the people going into the service, but it was slow going and wasn’t terribly interesting in the way that it kept me on my toes or wanting more. Her experience as a military wife was pretty much as I would’ve expected. I also felt the epilogue/ending was extremely rushed. We spent a whole book over one deployment and one location, but I felt it would’ve been more fitting and served the book’s purpose more if she would’ve discussed more about her move, fitting in with new wives and what that culture is like, and how their marriage and life changed over the course of multiple deployments and another child.
