I love Parker as a narrator and I love that she
Spoilerhas found a romantic partner in Holly.
I don't understand why she felt the need to hide the fact that she was mugged from Pentecost, but I understand how it added to the narrative later on.

I also love Pentecost. It is heartbreaking to see her try to stave off the ravages of her disease while still being at the prime of her intellectual career.

As a series we are moving closer to the time of the lavender scare, the ending pretty much offers a hint as to what is to come; but as heartbreaking as that will be, I can't wait to read book number 5!

I think I may just be losing patience with the things that have always bothered me about these books.

I picked this up at my local library when I had an hour to kill and took it with me to read. First person novels are hard to do and this did not pull it off for me - too much 'im not like other girls' / quirky 'I always run towards trouble' I think if this had been less drawn out I would have finished it but I just was forcing myself to read it.
