I like this book better than the second book. The Little Mermaid it is my favorite of the stories, so I really enjoyed Ursula’s point of view. I listened to this as part of the collection, and I enjoyed the audible narration for all three of the stories.

My favorite so far!!!

Initially I rated this as a 4 as to not be mean... Then 3... And then I realized I rated the other two books in the series a 3 and that this one was definitely not on their level. I had high hopes for this one i’m not going to lie. Ariel was my favorite princess growing up and even though my preferences has changed (*cough* rapunzel and moana *cough*) mermaids are still one of my favorite topics in the world. So yeah I was hoping for a lot.

Although Ursula has never been my favorite I do have to admit the idea for her backstory is more than interesting. Problem we got more fact than action. I won’t say too much but we got to know about 50% of her family and even that was beyond confusing. I just wanted a lot more and unfortunately it wasn’t given.

And for the love of god can we drop the tulip girl oh my god where is her relevance to the story? I understand the nanny part of it all, but why is Tulip there? What’s the point of her whining and pining?

This is a messy review which reflects the content in the books. Messy and very confusing. I don’t know where it starts or begins and it keeps giving us threads that I pull and pull but it all leads to dead ends. It does seem like the author has some sort of idea behind it all, something that ties it all together, which is where the excitement lies. Hopefully I’m right. I guess we’ll see where the next book takes me.

I did get a little confused in this book because it had a couple of story lines going on and I would get thrown off. The Nanny character's revelation is interesting and makes me wonder where she will go from here...if she does. It's hard to know.

Added note - I think I liked this book better the second time because I knew what was going on with all the characters. And I was right, Nanny is an interesting character and I love that she goes on from this book.

This was not quite what I was expecting. I was really hoping to see The Little Mermaid retold through the eyes of Ursula. Unfortunately, this was not the case. In fact, I felt like I was following the storyline of completely unrelated characters to TLM. I did enjoy the interconnectedness of other Disney storylines, but was really hoping it to be more based on Ursula and Ariel from the Sea Witch's point of view!

Ik had ook dit boek eindelijk binnen en dus begon ik gelijk met lezen. Ik wilde weten hoe het verder ging! De rode draad door alle boeken heen is een mooie toevoeging. Ik kan niet wachten op deel 4!

The book was good but I felt like it was more a story of the Odd Sisters rather Ursula. I wanted a deeper look into Ursula and Tritons beef. Tho we did get deeper that the actual movie! I feel like there were things missing. Like why did she kidnap Circe and betray the sisters. Did she actually feel any regret? Maybe Triton needs his own book so we can see his side of things too!
Good book!
Shows Ursulas true feelings!
But it’s just missing SOMETHING
