No real surprises in this one. The everybody loves Jory train continues to roll, only now, his whole family seems to be encompassed in Jory's aura of awesome, because everyone was just as enamored with Sam and their kids. I did wish there was more of the action plot included in the book, and more actual relationship, instead of Jory constantly getting into one mess after another, mixed in with domestic family fun time. It almost felt like this is just the author, not wanting to let this couple go, as I didn't really feel like it added anything to this world.

I'm a bit torn about this. I have to say though that the narrator of this book was my favorite out of all of them and greatly enhanced my enjoyment.

It's been approximately 12 years since Jory and Sam first met and though they've thankfully matured a bit and have become settled, their love has not diminished. This last chapter was definitely more mellow, the hijinks not even close to being crazy. I'm still on the fence whether I missed it or not.

As I've said before, and I'll say it again, I appreciate Mary Calmes giving us a look at these two living their daily lives and this book has it in spades. So if you're ok with plenty of on page kid cuteness and Jory going through the motions of managing the household, then this is for you. There is a minor mystery that involves a case Sam is working on that brings with it a mini relationship crisis. How they discuss and handle it; what's revealed is just probably the best part of this book.

What I like about this series overall is that their passion for each other has never wavered through all the shenanigans they have gone through. So yes, I love growly possessive Sam and the heat level is pretty darn good which gives this extra points. If you've gotten this far on the Jory train I don't think many will be disappointed with the conclusion - because I wasn't. Enjoy!

Would have loved for Sam and Jory to have more time together in the book, and I was very surprised that Jory didn't get into more trouble. I'm sorry to see Sam and Jory go, but I'm glad they got their HEA, and that the kid issue was resolved.

Any chance we get an Aaron and Duncan story? I haven't really been an Aaron fan, but he seems very different with Duncan, so I'm thinking I might like their story.

I LOVE this family and I still love Jory and Sam. Kola and Hannah got a piece of my heart too! I love all of their extended family and friends. I will never get tired of reading books with them in it:-)

I love the leaps of time that occur between these books. Years have passed since the last one and Jory is now married to Sam and they have a couple of kids. Jory is a super protective Dad but still as crazy as ever. Fast-paced, this book has the usual action although the personal danger to Jory is perhaps tempered by the fact he has children. Full of humour (Jory is as cute as ever) and loving (Sam is still gorgeous) and including the cast of characters from the earlier books with a sweet HEA ending.

Nice happy ending to the series. At times it was a little bit too much of 'Jory is perfect and EVERYBODY loves him' for me to deal with, but well... Sam Kage? He made up for that, though I wish he had more screen time, maybe if the book had been told from his POV it would've been better. :-) I'm not going to say it was boring, far from that, there was enough going on, but I did find myself skipping bits and pieces because... too much happy-happy joy-joy no angst perfect life stuff, and yes everybody did love Jory. Even the bad guys (if they weren't being shot by Sam). 4 stars because well Jory and Sam have always had a fond place in my heart. Jory's spell is on me too, it seems...

To be frank I don't know how to review this story. Some were a bit upset about Sam and Dr. Dwyer while all I could think was
Spoiler..."how can you work a mission and not know the identity of the target?"
I also found myself struggling to relate to 'adult' Jory. His "voice" was the same in my head yet so unfamiliar. The other problem I had but eventually "got" was how Sam metamorphisised into an uber alpha (the sexual dominant is not surprising however, the total Dane alpha male implant was). Then again, when you're in love with someone like Jory and you have kids that depend on you, I guess I shouldn't be surprised Sam had to reign Jory in. Everyone else was pretty much the same but Jory was so different I sometimes had a hard time reconciling the adorable 22 yr old twink with the responsible 35 year old man he became. Overall, while everyone was pretty much the same. Sam and Jory's characters matured into a stable loving couple that was beautiful to behold. There's more I want to say but my thoughts are all disjointed (just like this review). Needless to say, I have to marshall my thoughts together so that my review will make sense.

Until then:

Am I being too greedy to ask for an Aaron and Duncan book?
Pretty pretty please... With a sprinkle of Sam and Jory thrown in? Technically, it wouldn't be a Sam and Jory book lol
