Overall I was intrigued on the mystery and liked the short chapters and pace. However the transphobic terms and misgendering of a character however minor made me not like the book as much.

A fast read once you get into. The different POVs are a lot and I’m not sure they were all necessary but Helen Grace is a solid character that I plan on continuing to read.

Parts of this book were really good but other parts just felt extremely boring. It dragged a little and didn't really get that interesting until the end. I found that there were just to many povs which made it hard for me to get into the book. Basically the end and the parts about the crimes saved this. Everything else besides Helen was just blah.

This book took turns you would never expect. It’s a quick read, not super complicated, especially if you like mystery and crime stories. It had me on the edge of my seat until I finished the book. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I would have given this book at least 4 stars if it didn't have the unneeded transphobia. It wasn't fully malicious transphobia but it was still enough to really bother me and I feel like the plot point could have still been there without the transphobic bits. I understand that realistically at this point some of the characters probably would have reacted that way and said those things but... It's a book he could have written them without it. Really that was the biggest flaw to me
