The ending didn't age too well but interesting nonetheless. I liked the chapters about risk and tradition.

Unreferenced and too short to truly delve into any particular topic, as a quick read Runaway World is still though provoking enough to be well worth the time.

I would have enjoyed this book more if there had been adequate footnotes and references backing up the author's many claims. I am sure he did the research, but this rendered his arguments ineffective to me.

It was fun annotating this book with my own, angry, counterarguments.

Although, some of his stuff I agreed with.

Interesting read! Ofcourse some things are outdated as it is written about the world in 1999 but a lot still rings truth. Good start if you want to learn about globalisation in a short and easy way. If you already are familiar with globalisation, there are no groundbreaking ideas but Giddens writes really nicely and understandably. To me it's always interesting to read how people used to look at current phenomena and this book does just that.
