Beautifully written and very interesting, but I could not find the relationship between the two halves. Deals with misogyny and fear of male violence, and "otherness" from skin color, in non-U.S. countries.

technically this is a dnf but i put so much work into trying to enjoy it i feel like i deserve to put it towards my reading total. 

this book has a very interesting concept with a disappointing execution - i just could not find the motivation to go back to it to finish it.

Two half-books does not a full book make… Lyle’s story was far more interesting and I felt that would’ve made a better “full” book. Lili’s story is mostly just a plotless Sally Rooney wannabe ramble.
