What a cute series! I loved it and still love CLAMP stories!
Wow, this series did not go at all in the direction I thought it was going.
Then again, this is classic CLAMP bait and switch storytelling: start out light and fun then turn dark and twist your heart.
It’s not the ending I was hoping for but it did work out perfectly for where the story was headed. I particularly appreciate that all the little hints and seemingly throw-away comments are elements were explained/resolved/actually meaningful in the end.
That’s good storytelling.
And let’s not forget the art. It might be starting to get repetitive and a bit predictable (a lot of characters look alike or just plain like characters from other series) but I still find it beautiful and perfect for a CLAMP story. It just wouldn’t be the same.

if you don't cry yourself to sleep when it's over, it isn't CLAMP . . .
this was SO different from the anime ending, which really felt like a brother/sister sort of relationship between Kobato and Fujimoto. this was definitely more romantic. lots of other differences, significant ones, as well. seeing Iorogi (true form) and Suishou (who looks exactly like Kobato) made their impossible situation so much more real. Iorogi reminds me so much of Kurogane (TRC). at least finally there is a real happy ending, just like in the anime.

I actually finished the anime way before I did the manga, and I have to say that the manga is beautifully done, especially the last two books. They really give the reader background information on what war Iorogi started, why, and about Kobato's existence.
I especially liked this ending because it doesn't just leave Iorogi in his stuffed animal body, there's a promise of return in the next life. (Although the whole stranger to confessing to each other felt really...weird haha)

I must say, I was a bit down to find out that this is already the last volume. I will miss the characters, badly and can only hope to see one or two of them in the background of some other CLAMP mangas. The story was incredibly cute, which was a nice change compared to xxxHolic or the last 14 volumes of Tsubasa.
Once more, the amazing women of CLAMP have succeeded to surprise me but in the end, I was left with a bit of disappointment, too. How can they finish the series without showing Ginsei in his real form even once?
I know, he's not a main character, still I had so much love for him because he's so grumpy and to me, he is kind of the tragic hero of the story because of his one-sided love for Iorogi. There were some other characters I would have liked to know a little better and I still have some questions but to sum it up...
I don't regret buying the mangas and I'm looking forward to read them over and over again. ^^
And not just because of the amazing hats.

WOW!!! I just... wow!! This conclusion was everything I could have hoped for and more!! Seriously, I didn't think I was going to enjoy this series with how the first volume started. But man am I happy that I read the whole thing!! This series showcased different types of love and just being a good person! Some of these love stories came out of nowhere and took my breath away!! And some of them brewed like a good cup of tea!! Like... This was so good!! I just... my mind is blown!!
Wow that ended soon. :/ I would've liked more time with these characters, I was enjoying them. Also I never got confirmation on whether Ginsei presented male or female! But my hypothetical grouchy girl rabbit! T_T Well at least when it's left ambiguous I can read zir as I will. It wrapped up in a way that was very much what I'd expect from a short running CLAMP series so I don't have much complaints. 3.5 stars

It's nice?? i mean as always Clamp writes a very good emotional undercurrent for all of their mains but this manga just feels too smushed to really breathe? The pacing is off is what im saying. I think the setup with demons and angels should've been revealed much earlier. I don't know why the teacher's shitty husband was forgiven, but i don't enough care about him to care. A bit ago, I heard someone describing the romance in this as Clamp putting a gun to your head and asking if you'd rather have the adult male lead date his adopted sister or the teenage protagonist, which is ,, not good. Despite this, its a pleasant read, like I said the emotional narrative is superb, u can really see inside the head of all the main characters, and the art is beautiful as well
Graphic: Adult/minor relationship
