A cute little quick read.

I wasn’t too sure about all the pop culture references dating this book when I started reading, but once you get into the story it didn’t really bother me.

I saw on social media that Entangled weren’t approving NetGalley requests, but glad I just went for it anyway as this was a fun read.

This was the first book I read by this author, and I was not disappointed. I am a sucker for the fake dating trope, which is why I read this book. This book follows Nora and Sebastian as they first meet at Nora's work and then end up at the same wedding together, just on the opposite sides. The catch: they are both fake dating the person they came with. No matter how hard these 2 try, they find themselves together and they can't hide their attraction to one another. This book had me laughing in all the right places. Just like always, when I was about to put it down for the night, I got to the part of the book that made me yearn to find out what happens next, and if it wasn't for having to go into work the next day super early, I probably could've stayed up to finish it.
There is some spice in this book but it's not too much of the book, maybe 40 pages total out of the 340 that is is. If you love the fake dating trope, definitely check this out. If dysfunctional family weddings are your thing, read this. I would consider this a romantic comedy as there are defiantly some funny parts and it has you rooting for the characters the whole book.

I took a chance on this one because it was recommended by an author whose book I really liked. All I really have to say is that it seemed SO. LONG. I have a limit as to how many times characters can think "We have good chemistry, but is it real?" "Does this relationship have a future?" without discussing it with each other (!) before I start to get frustrated. Unfortunately, I just have little patience for lack of communication when there are no real obstacles to communicating other than the ~plot~.

The book wasn't bad! It was fun. I would consider the author's other books. But this one did not engage me.

3 stars from me!

This book was funny but there were A LOT of small side characters and at times it was hard to keep them all straight and then I felt like some of the main characters didn’t get fully developed because of focusing on the side characters.

I felt like it had a lot more potential then it was given

This was such a unique and refreshing take on the fake dating trope-and adds the best forbidden vibe because they aren’t fake dating each other! I loved Sebastian and Nora- and I really loved Livy’s writing. It’s witty, banterific, rich with chemistry , and super engaging. The premise here was loads of fun- and I love dramatic wedding moments . The secret romance element and electric spark make for delectable tension, and the characters are so charming.

I love romcoms, and I especially love fake dating, but this one…just felt a little off to me. It’s really taken me a while to put my finger on what didn’t work, and I think ultimately there was just too much going on, and the authors writing style weren’t my favorite. This one also went from slow burn to horny lovesick teenage love in the beat of the eye. I felt like I had whiplash, and it wasn’t a fun experience especially since during the slow burn, I never felt the chemistry between our love interests, it just wasn’t there for me. Again, I think this was an issue with the authors writing style for me. This book took me way longer to read than I felt necessary. Normally I devour books, I’m a speedreader, it’s part of who I am at this point. But this book felt like pulling teeth at times, and while I have tried to embrace the DNF I am so stubborn that it doesn’t always work for me, I just kept hoping this one would click, and it didn’t. I never got the warm fuzzy feelings that I get from romcoms. I enjoyed a few of the side characters, but there were so many of them (it was set at a huge wedding) that I found it hard to get to know anyone. It lacked that character intimacy for me as well.

I do appreciate Entangled for sending me an ARC and I wish that I would have enjoyed it more. I really do.
