The Great Dating Fake Off is a rom-com where love, comedy and spicy scenes mix in such a way that it leaves you wanting more and without wanting to stop reading.
The book stars Nora and Sebastian, a couple that has a lot of chemistry since their first meeting, but they have to pretend that it doesn't exist when they are both invited as their best friends' couples to a wedding. And what can go wrong at a big Italian wedding where both families hate each other? Well, everything. First because Nora has to pretend to be Benji's partner, her best friend and brother of the bride, and Sebastian to be Alessia's partner, his best friend and sister of the groom. Between having to pretend to be their best friends' couples in front of two huge families and pretending that they are not attracted to each other in any way, the main couple does not have a very good time.
I really enjoyed the story (as did its characters), especially in those family moments and because of the dynamic that Nora and Sebastian have between them and with the others (Benji, Alessia, Rosalina, Enzo...). And for people who enjoy a romance with scenes where the temperature rises, this is the one for you.
A book that you have to give a chance to and that made me laugh out loud.

The Great Dating Fake Off by Livy Hart was such a cute story! From the big Italian families that hate each other, to the pickleball matches, the mechanical bull rides, and the special meals, this story was just a fun one to read. Nora and Sebastian meet because of work and instantly like each other, and what a coincidence it is when they not only show up at the same big Italian wedding, but do so as fake plus ones for both of their best friends. The way they fight their chemistry and their own personal hurdles just makes them coming together so much sweeter. I will say, I don't think the name super fits. When I picked this out, I expected it to be a cooking competition or something like that because of that famous show. There is a little cooking in the story, but it just kind of threw me off when I read the synopsis, and it didn't match expectations. Overall, it was a good little love story with some laughs, a few heartfelt moments, and a good slow burn. I'll definitely be picking up some of Livy's other books after reading this one!
Nora D’Amato and Sebastian Rossi find themselves caught up in the whirlwind of an extravagant Italian wedding, pretending to be involved with others to help out their friends. What starts as a simple favor quickly becomes complicated as their undeniable chemistry threatens to unravel their ruse. The humor, banter, and fiery attraction between Nora and Sebastian make this a fun and fast-paced read. The chaotic wedding setting, complete with feuding families and unexpected twists, adds layers of drama and tension. Livy Hart skillfully balances the laughs, romance, and spice, delivering a thoroughly entertaining story that kept me hooked from start to finish. A must-read for rom-com lovers!

A lighthearted romantic comedy read with some steamy scenes and lots of banter. I started this book after a particularly heavy read, so I wanted something sweet and enjoyable, this definitely fit the bill.
Basically Nora and Benjy are besties but Benjy gets a lot of pressure from his Italian family to find a girlfriend. With his sister getting married, suddenly he needs a date. Nora steps in and pretends to be his girlfriend to take some of the pressure off…
She meets a handsome and thoughtful man at the bookstore one day, working for a nonprofit. We figure out quickly that he is the love interest. She packs up for the wedding not knowing that she would see her crush Sebastian there! With another woman? (That he is fake dating )!
Over the course of the wedding, Sebastian and Nora flirt and attempt (poorly) to quell their budding attraction for each other. This book is a frivolous but cute read with some funny family drama. I’m glad I picked it up. Just fyi- there’s a ton of family members and side characters, making it a little hard to follow, although this does add a bit more realism to the story of Italian Americans and their family dynamics.

Nora and Sebastian have a meet cute at the bookstore where she works but don’t get a chance to set up a date. They then run into each other at a big fat Italian wedding a week later, where they each just happen to be acting as fake dates for other people. They know that the other is faking their relationship for the wedding and can’t hide their attraction to each other. The wedding weekend gets a bit wild with the threat of getting caught faking, the threat of their attraction being seen, meanwhile the bride and groom’s families are already at war with each other.

I really tried to like this one, but just couldn't. This is not the book for readers with a pregnancy ick - it is mentioned throughout every spicy scene and was just too much for me to handle. Also heavy in the miscommunication, just not for me.
