Maybe it's because I just got engaged, but I've been on a wedding-themed romance book kick. The Great Dating Fake Off did not disappoint, and I am not surprised because Livy Hart's romantic comedies always do it for me!

Sebastian and Nora have an instant connection when they first meet, but their second meeting? A week-long Italian wedding where they're both fake dates to different people. They try and resist one another, but of course, by the end, they can't help but give in. 😉

This story was such a cute concept and it was definitely giving 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding Vibes'. If you love banter, meddling families, and hilarious mishaps, The Great Dating Fake Off is for you!

So the concept was there, the execution was not. Like to be completely honest this couple will break up after maybe a year of being together. Like I didn’t actually read a book of a couple falling in love, I read a book of people agreeing to date. But they were so different and have different goals and aspirations. I actually think I would have liked her being with the charcter she was pretending to date because it made more sense. It was memorable for the wrong reasons for me.

This is pure smut - it’s a bit uncomfortable how horny these people are.

I love a good fake dating storyline and this one took the cake with a whole lot of sneaking around, plenty of good humor, and scandalous steamy scenes.

Told from dual perspectives, Nora and Sebastian have instant chemistry and almost immediately fall into their respective fake dating scenarios with their best friends when they attend a wedding. It’s hard for these two to stay away from each other which puts a wrench in their pretend relationships but keeps the story moving. When it all falls apart, like any good fake dating story, Nora and Sebastian find they have more standing in their way than they realized.

I liked this story overall but it fell flat in some spots in the beginning. The tension between the two characters helped pick the storyline up in places but still put a damper on things until the wedding festivities took place.

I can say that Livy Hart appears to love a good unconventional, scandalous steamy scene, but then again, so do I, and we get a few in this storyline. Pool tables and reading chairs for the win - IYKYK.

The Great Dating Fake Off by Livy Hart is a fun rom-com featuring double fake dates to a big Italian wedding.

Nora would do anything for her best friend Benji, including pretending to be his girlfriend at his sister's wedding. But then she sees her crush at said wedding.... and he's also pretending to be his best friend's date. And did I mention that the wedding is between two families who have had a feud for several generations?

Zura Johnson and James Cavanaugh narrate this one, and they do a great job. They put just the right amount of emotion into their reading.

I don't typically go for insta-love, but this author somehow makes me root for that trope. I especially liked the relationships between both sets of best friends. This is set at a huge Italian family wedding, and there are tons of characters. It gets a little confusing trying to keep everyone sorted.

If you're looking for a fun, easy to read book with a good amount of steam, check this one out! This is another one I'd totally watch as a movie. I'm definitely hopeful there will be a future book between Benji and perhaps the maid of honor from the wedding in this book.

Tropes in this book include: fake dating, huge family wedding, family feud

I couldn’t help smiling while reading this story. It was non-stop amusing moments and with that building physical tension between our main characters, it was truly delightful. The whole cast was just fantastic which made it easy to be invested in all that was happening. The writing was engaging and I felt a closeness to the characters. They had beautiful relationships even though far from perfect, you could tell they all cared about each other.

Our main characters were so unproblematic, simply loveable and trying their best. I enjoyed seeing them try so hard to resist that pull between them and fail beautifully (for our joy). They were cute together and had such great chemistry.

I love wedding setups, it is always so eventful, and these feuding families sure knew how to make it even more entertaining. We got pretty hilarious moments but heartfelt ones too, and it was a perfect mix.

If you are looking for a diverting story full of wonderful characters, just pick this one up!
