Thanks to the publisher & Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

There are some books where you feeeel the attraction between leads & The Great Dating Fake Off by Livy Hart did that for me.

These two. Oh my.

When they get into a room together, it’s serving heat, need, intensity 🔥 ☺️.

Jocelyn @jsbook has been influencing me to read Livy Hart forever & I finally took the plunge. Now, after how much I loved this book, I’m already thinking about reading her others, two of which have been languishing on my shelves.

In this one, Nora & Sebastian are fake dating other people at a wedding week extravaganza between two tumultuous families, & they just can’t stay apart.

The book is immediately cute & stays cute, filled with characters you root all the way for, especially as they both consider the word “home.” When I tell you that I would pay movie theatre money to see this book play out on the screen, I am serious.

It was sooo good from top to bottom & I enjoyed every page!

5 ⭐️. Out 08/06.

Let me just say I could not put this book down! This was my first fake dating trove and I loved it so much! Livy Hart is absolutely amazing! I love her writing style.

Spice level was perfect. Not over the top and certainly did not disappoint. Sebastian Rossi seriously all the feels. He definitely gives the touch her and die vibes! Nora who is the book lover main female character is perfect. She’s seriously is someone I could be friends with haha. Absolutely loved the Italian wedding setting and the family drama.

This book is definitely one of my favorites!!

The Great Dating Fake Off by Livy Hart

This book has it all, its both cozy and outrageously funny. Two fake couples, hidden relationships, secrets and of course over the top large Italian families It has the PERFECT summer romcom vibes, on the beach with a frozen margarita would be my ideal reading plan.

We follow Nora who works at a bookstore owned by her best friend Benji as they dive head first into the world of fake dating. Benji’s sister is getting married and Benji’s mom and sister are dying to set him up with a date. Nora jumps in pretending to be his girlfriend and ends up attending a week long wedding event! Oh my, that not all. Cue smoking hot Sebastian Rossi, who would get any girl hot and bothered is also attending and might have his eye on Nora. Sebastian also has his own fake date.

I loved this book so much and here is a few reasons why.
Big Italian family drama! This one hits close to home, while I might not be Italian I did marry into a very large Italian family and the drama in this book is 100% correct. I could not have written it better myself. There is just so much chaos here, and when you add a second family to that it becomes like a category 5 hurricane, no one is getting out of there unharmed.

Book loving nerdy main female character. I mean common do I really need to go into details about why Nora is one of the best characters I have read about. She just is so you should read it and find out for yourself.

The feelings this book gives. I was happy, I was sad, I was on the edge of my seat with worry and I was kicking my with glee. It was outrageously funny, like laugh out loud to giggling to myself like a school girl at all times. The characters have sass, the drunken moments are oh so real! It’s a real emotional roller coaster so keep all hands and feet inside and enjoy the ride, its not stopping until its over.

The last point I need to make is the spice is top tier here. It is not in your face throughout the book but it’s there and wow… I now need to buy myself a sturdy reading chair, IYKYK

Livy Hart is now on my buy anything published list!

Fake dating like you’ve never seen before!

Nora and Sebastian meet at the bookstore where Nora works. Sparks instantly fly. Unfortunately, fate steps in to prevent anything further from happening. Cue drama and fake dating situations for both of them. Both step up to help their best friends by fake dating for the wedding of their friends siblings. A contentious Italian wedding featuring some of the best side characters known to man! Unfortunately Nora and Sebastian find themselves thrown together again and again and the attraction only gets stronger and harder to resist!

As with all Livy books, these characters immediately captured my heart. They are both sweet and earnest. I absolutely love the new twist on the fake dating trope! This book truly had me laughing out loud, sighing and hugging my book, blushing, crying, you name the emotion and Livy nailed it! I can’t wait for this book to be out in the world for everyone to marvel over how Livy did it again.

Thank you SO much to Livy Entangled Publishing for this ARC! It was a JOY getting to meet Livy at ApollyCon, and getting to read this book early was the best kind of birthday gift.

The Great Dating Fake Off just proves Livy can do no wrong. Nora and Seb are such perfectly imperfect and complex people but their emotions are so honest and genuine. Plus they’re FUNNY - like actually laugh-out-loud, I would be friends with these people funny, who talk like actual human beings and don’t force anything. And the spice? Per usual, it’s a goddamn masterpiece. Livy is definitely an auto-buy author for me, and I can wait to do an audio reread of this one.

POV: dual first person

You can expect: fake dating, wedding, meddling families, familial tension, forced proximity, opposites attract, found family.

Rep: lesbian side
