I really struggled with this book. I felt like the constant fighting and making up between Adrian and isolde was just to much.

Ngl love book 1 but this was a major bummer. They fight a bunch and then have sex afterwards…..that’s it. I really wish the conflict with the goddesses and who Isolde is versus Yesenia was discussed more in this book. The whole Yesenia being reincarnated into Isolde could work but honestly as the reader it feels like her romance with Adrian is all bc it’s Yesenia and Adrian not Isolde and Adrian. Major dislikes of this book were that we lose Isolde to Yesenia, Adrian is bad so at this point why write anymore books, and overall this sequel undoes everything I loved in the first book.

Listen. This book was…not good. But that being said, I *mostly* enjoyed reading it and will be reading the next one. Both because I have to know where this is all going and it’s basically an adult version of Twilight. Seriously, this book even brought in werewolves—though there is no Jacob. Yet…

This book definitely lacks what the first one had. As second books in a trilogy sometime have a weaker plot line and development, this one definitely is lacking. Very disappointing, but there was some good parts!

*listened to audiobook* I’m confused. There were so many potential world building and plot moments that just weren’t developed. I lost interest a few times because I didn’t know where the plot was going and the pacing was off. I wanted a more equal balance between the fantasy elements and the romance. This leaned VERY heavily on the romance to the detriment of the overall story.
