I hate DNFing, but I just couldn’t get through this and stopped at 52%. The first book wasn’t great, but still had somewhat of a story. But this just has zero plot. The MMCs relationship has zero buildup and is just really unbelievable.

Its been a few months since I listened to the first book, so perhaps I forgot the feel of the first one. However, this one didn't live up to how I remember the first one being. The main characters fought a lot which took away from the story. It felt like it was all just fighting and sex; don't get me wrong, I like a smutty book, but so much of it took away from the plot. The ending of this book also just felt so abrupt. You learn some information and then it ends in a weird way.
I don't know, I just wasn't as into this book as I was the first one.
slow-paced

I really enjoyed the first book, but just couldn't get into this one. Whats-her-face pushes this narrative a little too hard and I just couldnt care. Dnf

I love this book. It’s a hard read as there is so much sadness and grief but underneath that Isolde is powerful and determined. It’s an empowering book.
