Felt anti climactic at the end.
Definitely left it in a cliff hanger for the third book. However, after how dragged through this one felt, I’m not sure a third book is worth it.

Maybe I am an idiot but I thought this series was just a duology and done but with the ending I figured out quickly that was not the case. This book was rough to finish and if it was not for my audible version idk if I would have finished. I got whiplash from the characters and their behavior. (One minute you like them, then they are a jerk, and some would redeem but it was not plausible/believable) and the spice and plot got repetitive at times. I did not really care for the Hades series from St. Clair either so it could just be her writing is not for me.
3.5/5
It was so hard to get through this at times, but the last third was much easier!
I don't even know what it is about it I didn't enjoy as much

While this one is good, it isn’t as good as the first and it felt rushed. Character development could have been done better, and there is plenty of conflict to keep you interested- but it all resolved for the most part too quickly and “easily”. This series could be AMAZING, but it is just meh because much like the first book, this one could have easily been two books. It’s good, but not great.

This book has an intriguing storyline, but I feel like the plot could be developed a lot more. I hate to be one of "those people", but there was way too much sex and not enough plot development. I think the story could have been progressed a lot, without feeling fuzzy or disingenuous.
As it was, the plot felt rushed and confusing. A lot of the "big" reveals felt really lackluster, as there was no big build up to them. I think Isolde's character could have had a lot of development with some of the changes that occurred for her in this book, but it just wasn't there.

I didn’t love it as much as the first book, but still couldn’t put it down. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I kinda think there was too much sex? I think it’s detracted from the rest of the book, and took away from Isolde’s character.
