Definitely liked this one better than the first. We get to know each character better. There were satisfying twists and turns (both in the storyline and the spice). I was disappointed to see that after my binge read, book 3 is not out for several more months.
Loved book one so this was a disappointment. It felt very rushed and yet somehow still boring. The relationships felt flat. The only connection Adrian and her have is sex. The rest of the time is just annoying bickering between the two. Isolde’s character got very lost between her two lives. Somehow it missed the mark. Overall the plot was very predictable. Every betrayal was seen coming by a mile away.
4.5 Stars

If you have read the first novel and thought there wasn't enough plot, well don't worry. There's enough substance and plot going to keep you captivated. From twists and turns to heartbreaking moments. My only gripe is the sheer amount of steamy scenes stuffed into this novel. They definitely weren't all necessary. Sometimes less is more. Besides that, I can't wait to see how the story unfurls in the next book.
***I would like to thank NetGalley, Scarlett St. Clair (the author), and Tantor Audio for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.*

3.5 stars. I got a little irritated at points with character's choices. This one is definitely not as strong as the first one, but it seems to be laying a lot of groundwork. I will still read the next one.
I had to force myself to finish this book. Which is unfortunate because I liked the first one well enough. All Adrian and Isolde do is fight. That's it.
He says something (which is always true), she gets irrationally furious, sometimes tries to slap him, storms off before they actually discuss anything, ignores him for a day, he apologizes, they have sex.
Congrats, you've basically just read the whole book.
I wouldn't read it again nor would I recommend the series to anyone else.

Good not great and not as engaging as the first, but I would read a third.
Yeah idk it was just a book…. First what is the plot here…there were just random events and everything in between was slow. Author even said in the note that she had no idea where this book was going. Lol me too
* also there’s so many characters
* the flashbacks needed to be in all italics that was annoying
* AND their relationship was cheesy af

This book was far more interesting than the first, but also more frustrating.
I have come to dislike Adrian, and I found myself rooting for his opposers more and more throughout this book.
In the third book, I hope those opposers win and that Isolde comes to her senses and joins them.
