Initially, this book didn't exactly hook me out of the reading slump fully; It was more so of a "welcome back to fantasy books" that made me yearn to continue reading through it. It was about past 40% onwards that I truly couldn't stop to put the book down. Though it may seem like just another ditsy female lead that is pinning after her one true love which betrayed her, the plot has time and time again proved that it's not as predictable (to me at least) as it seemed at first. THERE'S SO MANY PLOT TWISTS, AND IT LEFT ME YEARNING FOR MORE. And though I should've known, this book ends on a cliffhanger. So to future me: Download the whole trilogy before starting this book again if you do.

Not the book for me. Look, I do sometimes love a lighthearted less intense book but I am so tired of women who's main driver is being obsessed with a man. And wow right off the bat the main character is pining after a man that is not pining back for her. The magic system of this world didnt make so much sense to me. And then the main girly quickly jumps ship into being into being a princess. And then there are vampires? I dont know. It was bad.
